Cwrt Yr Orsaf is a 60-apartment extra care scheme built on the site of the former Pontypridd Magistrates’ Court. This fantastic development by Linc Cymru and Rhondda Cynon Taf Council comprises 56 one-bed apartments and 4 two-bed apartments, as well dining and lounge areas, a hair salon and communal landscaped gardens.
iDesign were delighted to fit out this beautiful building to a really interesting brief…the clients wanted to achieve a highly sustainable fit out using recycled, sustainable and environmentally positive products throughout the scheme. Sustainable fabrics such as real wool and Sileather were used for upholsteries and drapery, occasional furniture such as console tables were made from recycled scaffolding, artwork was produced with recycled paper stock and even the curtain tracks were pre-loved!

We want to ensure that our actions contribute to social, economic and environmental well-being now and in the future through our work in construction, buildings and in communities so our collaboration with iDesign was a step in the right direction as we hope to build on the successes of this project for future developments and retrospective fit-outs.”
