Our team are fully trained and experienced in RNIB Visibly Better Design and the Kings Fund and Sterling University approaches to pioneering dementia design.

Experience is key to delivering any project, especially refurbishments – it is particularly necessary when working around existing residents who need to be shown care and understanding and involved in the process as much as they wish. Our tight health and safety policy, thorough risk assessment process and unrivalled on-site experience enable us to work safely and effectively within an active home with no negative impact on residents.

Your Design Journey
From Care Homes to Hotels, Extra Care Housing to Boutique Cinemas, iDesign have a wealth of experience in designing the right scheme for every client’s unique needs. Every design journey starts with a briefing. Once we’ve listened carefully to your direction and requirements for the project we will go away and create initial mood boards to articulate our shared vision. A second design meeting sees us scrutinising these mood boards with you, taking your feedback and working together to create more detailed design boards.
The design boards take us into the detail of the design. Its our attention to detail that really makes the design. Our design boards will show this detail – everything from light fittings to chair fabrics, paint finishes to curtain piping. Presented alongside our digital imagery you will leave the design meeting with a clear and understandable representation of exactly what your design will look like.
When you are happy that the designs presented are exactly to your brief we can progress to project implementation. We are able to offer a full procurement service, which brings the benefit of established discount structures with many of our suppliers. We will work to your programme and tailor our project management support to your unique requirements, right through to final fit out which is always undertaken personally by the iDesign team.
Our Specialist Knowledge
With many years of experience working in-house and contracted to some of the largest Care Home Groups in the UK iDesign have a unique skill set and wealth of knowledge to offer. From private residential homes to Local Authority care centres, and specialised Dementia Care homes iDesign are experts in producing and implementing schemes which both look fantastic and work to provide your residents with the best possible environment for their needs. The iDesign team are fully educated in best practice within the industry, having studied and implemented both the Kings Fund and University of Stirling approaches to pioneering dementia care.
iDesign are accredited to the RNIB Visibly Better programme, creating perfect circulation, communal and day spaces which are easily navigable, practical and comfortable for service users to relax and enjoy.
We also have substantial experience of working on specialist units, including Eating Disorder, Brain Injury, Medium Secure and Drug / Alcohol Dependency Units. We can utilise our creative design skills whilst still conforming to the specialist individual requirements within such units.
Our established relationships with leading suppliers affords us access to the best and latest product innovation in the sector. Our industry experience means that our product knowledge is second to none and we can confidently specify materials and products which not only look great but are fit for purpose and will stand the test of time. All industry standards are adhered to or exceeded and upon project handover we provide a full manual of warranties, certification and care advice for the products supplied.

Denzil Hughes
With over 25 years’ experience and an unrivalled talent in design and project management, I have a proven track record of providing exemplary levels of service from concept to completion. I am passionate about great design and have the ability to design innovative interiors to time and budget.
Rachel Warrington
Having spent over 18 years working in design and fit out for the Care Industry I have established myself as a commercial savvy designer producing beautiful schemes which are practical and workable for our clients. Having worked both in-house and independently I am accredited in designing for Dementia Care, have completed a multitude of projects for Residential and Extra Care and also have extensive experience of the private care market.
Seirian Tranter
I have recently completed my BArch in New Zealand, gaining knowledge in construction, sustainable building, architectural history, interiors, landscaping and architectural design.
I am thoroughly enjoying my intern at iDesign, working with the team and applying my architectural knowledge and CAD software skills to our current projects.
